How to use it
- Test your CYA (cyanuric acid / stabilizer).
- Enter your current level, your target, and your volume.
- Add via a sock in the skimmer basket; wait ~5 days before re-testing — it dissolves slowly.
How much CYA do you want?
For a traditional chlorine pool, 30–50 ppm is ideal. Saltwater (SWG) pools run higher, 60–80 ppm, because the cell produces chlorine continuously. Indoor pools and spas need little or none. Remember: your chlorine target scales up with CYA.
You can't lower CYA with chemicals
There's no additive that removes cyanuric acid. The only practical way down is to drain and refill with fresh water (or a reverse-osmosis service). That's why it's better to under-shoot and add more than to overshoot.
